Remastering – Next Time – Max Alexandre

An EP of eight songs was recorded 20 years ago, roughly mixed and transferd to a compact disk for final approval. The disk was lost, the tracks and session files were gone but recently, the compact disk was found.

Though the audio on the disk was in poor condition, all eight songs were remastered and will be available on all major streaming services.

Off The Floor – Acoustic Guitar & Vocals

Off the floor, acoustic recording using two microphones, one for the vocal and the other for the acoustic guitar. The song recorded is a cover of John Fogerty’s – DejaVu All Over Again.

Pier 55 Studio is located in Ancaster, Ontario in the south-west portion of the Meadowlands near Garner Road and Southcote. Our location allows easy access to highway 403 and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.

Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM – 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. We work hard for our clients and, at times, during weekends when deadlines need to be met. Artists should plan their projects in advance in order to have adequate time to complete what is required and help prevent any need to rush.

A studio can have all the latest equipment in the work but without a person with knowledge, experience and skill to record, mix and master your project; the equipment is useless.

With that being said, we’d be happy to share this information with anyone who would like to inquire about it.

We accept bank transfer for any international clients outside of Canada, E-Transfer, Certified Cheque, Bank Draft or PayPal for Canadian clients. Clients are responsible for any and all fees associated with transfers. Payments are to be paid in full prior to commencement of smaller projects and daily prior to commencement on larger projects including the completion of necessary production paperwork and invoice.

MIXING

For Windows PC files, please use the “.wav” file format. For Mac’s please use the “.aiff” file format in the same bit depth and sample rate the song was recorded in. Please be sure to send all files from zero to the end of track with proper naming conventions for each track. Some examples would be “Lead Vocal”, “Rhythm Guitar”, “Rhythm Guitar2”, “Lead Guitar”, “Bass”, “HiHats” etc.

All files should also be rendered with no compression or limiting on that master bus. We prefer to have as much dynamics and headroom as possible to allow us to then process through various pieces of outboard gear and digital processing.

MASTERING

For Windows PC files, please use the “.wav” file format. For Mac’s please use the “.aiff” file format in the same bit depth and sample rate the song was recorded in. Please send bounced stereo files with no processing on the master bus; preferably no equalization, effects, compression or limiting. It’s understood there are cases where equalization has been used on the master bus to achieve the desired sound. If this is the case for your files, please be sure, to at the very least, no compression of limiting.

We do not offer internships. We are a privately run studio.

Vocalists Demo

When recording vocal demos or an audio audition, we use the clients existing backing track(s). Once recored and mixed, the completed files are provided in the clients preferred format.
